So, you're not moving, huh? Well, it's either a dead end or a life preserver or, who knows, maybe both? Whatever it is, it sure isn't any form of transportation that is keeping you afloat! So what if you're not perceptibly going anywhere? At least that means you are also not going under! Hey, there are moments when not drowning is absolutely life's greatest gift. And congratulations: you're not drowning. Which means it's no emergency. Those sirens you think you hear might really just be the setting off (no, right now it's not you setting off, relax) of your internal alarm bells, keeping the worst parts of the world from breaking into you and your more shortsightedly restless or ambitious impulses from breaking out. And if there are really any ambulances headed your way, may their rush one day grease your wheels too! But lose the drama, they're not for you - you need to pull over to the side of the road and wait. Do not claim the emergencies that are passing. Wait patiently that they may pass quicker.
Thank you, Lord, for today's life preserver. The fact that things have remained the same has given tomorrow the chance to be better.
