As if I were
a city planner
of old,
now I know,
if my life
is to become
meaningfully navigable,
I must build
in close proximity
to an active
water body,
one revealing a greater
distance
anytime a thought
wades in,
not to be cut off
from the questions,
the many
landing questions
bringing the
not quite definable supplies,
the intangible foodstuffs
that are so constantly
in need by
any growing shore
