This ocean view
will not be the
source of an
ocean within,
I am not here
to acquire in whole,
just a few unchipped shells
the tide forgets
that you give to me
in the same manner
as I leave
these words behind,
too timid to ask
but hoping from you
a direction for
my small creek to flow
