Life is motion hunting resistance. As the law of gravity states, more or less: an object in motion will remain in motion unless acted upon by an external force. At our stable best, we are agents invoking collision for the sake of inner balance.
What if motion, all motion, originates out of the seeking of an equal but opposite external force? As astronomers send out radio waves to distant galaxies, hoping to receive some sign of life in response, we too mature so as to one day head out into the world, venturing out and out until we coax it to push back against us: the feedback needed to confirm our own objective existence!
And herein lies the danger of a permissive age. When such feedback is delayed in arriving, those coming of age begin to do so at a reckless pace. These drivers of the zeitgeist (as the young always are!) naturally assume there must be extra distance to make up and continue to accelerate, which heightens the risk of damaging our luggage of cherished and time-honored traditions (cultural cargo!) that may not have been packed in preparation for such unprecedented turbulence.
What, in the end, is a resistance movement other than a movement itself seeking resistance?
